Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis has started two new TA collaborations within the framework of a long-standing collaboration with Russian universities.
Arrangements have been made with the Tomsk State University (TSU) in Siberia and the Perm Polytechnic University in the Urals. The direct partner in Tomsk is the chair of Prof. Irina Chernikova at the Institute of Philosophy, where an international workshop on the topic «Social Assessment of Technology and Technoscience» was held in September 2015. Furthermore, the education center «Policy Analysis and Studies of Technology» (PAST) at the TSU with its orientation towards STS (science, technology & society) studies should be mentioned here.

More details about new cooperation.

The Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) was founded on 1 July 1995 as successor of different institutions and is a research facility of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Since October 1999 it is headed by Prof. Dr. Armin Grunwald.
ITAS is the largest and most long-standing scientific institution in Germany dealing with technology assessment (TA) and systems analysis in theory and practice. Today, there are more than 100 scientific staff members; approximately half of them are natural scientists or engineers, the others hold a degree in social sciences or arts.
