Olga Zvonareva

Research Fellow at the Department of Health, Ethics and Society, Maastricht University; and Research Fellow at the REC PAST-Centre, Tomsk State National Research University.

Olga’s research focuses on processes and dynamics of innovation in (bio)medicine. Her recent study has examined social embeddedness of drug research and development in Russia. Olga has background in Psychology from Saint-Petersburg State University and Global Health from Maastricht University. In 2012 she was an associate researcher in the Steve Biko Centre for Bioethics, University of the Witwatersrand, and from the end of 2012 she has been working at the department of Health, Ethics and Society, Maastricht University, and teaching in the Global Health masters programme. She joined the PAST-Centre in 2014 and is working currently on the project examining construction of knowledge, evidence and credibility in Russian cardiovascular medicine.

Dmitry Galkin

PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Humanitarian Problems in Computer Science, Faculty of Philosophy, Tomsk State National Research University.

He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Tomsk State University, where in 2002 he defended his dissertation, «Virtualization of Experience in Postmodern Culture: Metamorphoses of a Discursive Landscape.» In 2013 he defenced his doctoral thesis about the philosophical and methodological aspects of artificial life.

Evgeniya Popova

Director of REC PAST-Centre, Tomsk State Nationa lResearch University.

PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, Tomsk State National Research University.

She completed her graduate studies at the EuropeanUniversity at St. Petersburg. In 2003, she defended her dissertation in political science (Moscow, Moscow State Institute of International Relations). She received training at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Center for Political Studies, 2008-2009) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK). She participated in research projects, including as a lead researcher, supported by the following organizations: the Human Resources Federal Target Program, the Fund of Infrastructure and Educational Programs at OJSC RUSNANO, RVC, National Research University «Higher School of Economics» (HSE), Interregional Studies in the Social Sciences, the Academy of Finland, ACLS, and the Ford and Carnegie Foundations. Author of the books: The Material Environment and the Reform Policy of the Urban Economy in Contemporary Russia (2010) and articls in different scientific journals: “Polis”, “Political Science” and others. Her monographies were winners at the Russian Political Science Association competition at 2011 and 2007.

Katerina Guba

PhD, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Tomsk State National Research University.

She received her Masters from the European University at St. Petersburg and completed her graduate studies at the European University of St. Petersburg in 2012. Since then she has been completing her dissertation, dedicated to a comparative analysis of the academic journal systems in the social sciences. She has participated in projects for the study of the academic world: Petersburg Sociology (2009-2010) and Systems of Status Symbolism in the Five National Academies (2009-2011, supported by HSE). Author of articles in the following scientific journals: Anthropological Forum, Sociological Research, Journal of Sociology and Social Anthropology, Gender Studies, Issues in Higher Education and others.

Olga graduated from the Department of Sociology at Tomsk State University in 2004, where afterwards she taught and participated in projects of Sociology and Social work departments research group and was associate researcher in Tomsk Public Opinion research group. Olga completed the graduate studies at the European University at St. Petersburg in 2013. Since receiving her Master’s in Sociology Olga has been working at a PhD thesis focused on the sociological study of the obstetrics system. Recent research projects were concerned with the expert knowledge, health care system and medicine in contemporary Russia.

Ivan Tchalakov

Research Fellow, REC PAST-Centre, Tomsk State National Research University, Associate Professor at Department of Institutional and Applied Sociology, University of Plovdiv, and senior research fellow at Technology Studies Group, Institute of Studying Societies and Knowledge, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

Ivan Tchalakov is working in the fields of Sociology of Sciences and Technologies, Sociology of Knowledge, and Economics of Technical Change. Between 1999 and 2003 he was elected as president of Bulgarian Sociological Association. He got M.A. in Sociology at University of Sofia (1984) and PhD at Institute of Sociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1988).

Andrei Kuznetsov

Associate Professor at Department of Sociology of Volgograd State University.

Graduated of Volgograd State University and received PhD degree in Sociology at Volgograd State University. He participated in training coarse “The Sociology of Everyday Life” at Russian Institute for Sociology attached to the Russian Academy of Science and winter school “Contemporary sociological Theories” at The Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences. He is a lecture for wide number of teaching courses like “History of sociology”, “Contemporary Sociological Theories”, “Sociology of Science and Technologies”, “Theory and Practice of Symbolic Interactionism”, “Anthropology of contemporary Societies”, “ANThology: Introduction to Actor-Network Theory”. He also gathered broader teaching experience as lecture at Saint-Petersburg State University, The Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences and Tomsk State University.
