She completed her graduate studies at the European University at St. Petersburg. In 2003, she defended her dissertation in political science (Moscow, Moscow State Institute of International Relations). She received training at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Center for Political Studies, 2008-2009) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK). She participated in research projects, including as a lead researcher, supported by the following organizations: the Human Resources Federal Target Program, the Fund of Infrastructure and Educational Programs at OJSC RUSNANO, RVC, National Research University «Higher School of Economics» (HSE), Interregional Studies in the Social Sciences, the Academy of Finland, ACLS, and the Ford and Carnegie Foundations. Author of the books: «The Material Environment and the Reform Policy of the Urban Economy in Contemporary Russia»(2010) and articles in different scientific journals: “Polis”, “Political Science” and others. Her monographies were winners at the Russian Political Science Association competition at 2011 and 2007.
